Recently, I learned that Promise Keepers www.promisekeepers.org is coming to Columbia, SC on Friday Aug. 3 & Saturday Aug. 4. The conference for men begins at 5pm on Friday the 3rd and concludes on the 4th at 1:00pm. I would like to get a group of men from NHBC to go to this conference. I haven’t been to a PK conference before, but I have heard that it is a very meaningful experience. We would drive down Friday the 3rd and return to Mechanicsville Saturday evening. If you are working, you would likely need to take Friday off.
Our church office is working on some of the details regarding group registration and hotel accommodations. We will get more details to you as soon as we have them. We will need 25 men to sign up to get a group discount. Without the discount, the conference fee is $59 for youth and $79 for adults. Hotels could be split between men to reduce the cost. I also have some family contacts in Columbia and will see if some other options open there.
